Who We Are

We are a collective of Indigenous peoples united in our shared commitment to reclaiming our inherent sovereignty and restoring our rightful place as stewards of the land. Our authority does not come from colonial systems, but from the Creator, our ancestors, and the living laws of our Nations that have governed these lands since time immemorial.

As Indigenous peoples, our sovereignty is not granted, negotiated, or conditional—it is lived and carried forward through our languages, our ceremonies, our kinship systems, and our responsibilities to the land, waters, and future generations. We come together in this committee to affirm these truths and to ensure that our collective voice is heard across territories, governments, and institutions.

Guiding Principles

Our work is guided by the following principles:

  • Sovereignty in Action: We assert our inherent right to govern ourselves, care for our lands, and define our future, independent of colonial frameworks.

  • Stewardship of the Land: We uphold our sacred duty as caretakers of Mother Earth, ensuring that every decision honors balance, sustainability, and the wisdom of natural law.

  • Interconnectedness: We recognize that our strength is collective, rooted in kinship across Nations, and in solidarity with all peoples working toward justice and freedom.

  • Cultural Continuity: We commit to revitalizing and protecting our languages, ceremonies, and traditions as living expressions of our sovereignty.

  • Generational Responsibility: Our actions today are for the benefit of our children and grandchildren, so they may inherit a future grounded in dignity, strength, and freedom.

Together, we stand as a living reminder that Indigenous sovereignty cannot be erased. It is practiced daily in the way we speak our languages, protect our lands, and lead with courage. As a committee, we carry forward this vision not only for our own Nations, but for all Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island and beyond.
